Daniel Hughes | Revit BIM Manager-Consultant | Excel Engineering

Excel Engineering is an employee owned, full service architectural-engineering firm with
- architectural design services,
- structural engineering,
- building systems | MEP engineering,
- civil engineering & surveying,
- process engineering,
- light gauge steel framing and
- Excel Technologies: IT / office and web-based integration services
- licensing in 40 states.
Excel Engineering Inc has been working on the Revit-BIM platform for about 18 month; transitioning from AutoCAD Architecture (formerly Architectural Desktop). They are also current to the Civil 3D platform and now own 3D Laser Scanning technology.
I had the opportunity to provide Excel Revit training and implementation transitioning in 2008.
As Excel Engineering's BIM Manager, I'll be collaborating with all departments, project managers, consultants, contractors and clients to transition the BIM process further into the project acquisition and delivery process.
As Excel Engineering's BIM Consultant, I will continue my roles of providing national Revit training, consulting and implementation.
This will initially include the following Autodesk products;
- Revit Architecture,
- Revit Structure,
- Revit MEP,
- NavisWorks,
- AutoCAD Architecture
- Civil 3D and
- AutoCAD
This will eventually require a "cast of specialty trainers-consultants" to provide national training, consulting and implementation for the Revit, Navisworks and Civil 3D platforms.
A pretty exciting, large adventure begins on August 17th.
I'll provide my contact information in a future article. Cheers!

Congratulations Daniel! Sounds like you found yourself a wonderful position that should keep you engaged for some time. Kudos to you - especially considering the economic climate. Randy
Thanks, Randy. I'm working to bring another Revit Arch class to Chicago this fall. Congrats on your upcoming book contract with Wiley.
