BIM Manager Job | Mortenson Construction | Seattle Washington

The BIM Manager is responsible for providing input and leadership to the design and/or virtual design and construction process.

• Understands technical and planning attributes of specific building types.
• Provides meaningful input to the project’s programming and conceptual design activities.
• Coordinates design team members and preconstruction services (i.e. estimating, scheduling, project planning, constructability, site utilization, etc.).
• When necessary, manages the integrated delivery team’s resources.
• Oversees the preparation of models for facilities management.

• Moderate experience with and demonstrated knowledge of construction costs and financial risks; strong understanding of the things that impact cost
• Demonstrated basic understanding of A/E business and client’s business interest.
• Experience managing people and processes.
• Familiar with contract language – construction and A/E

Basic Responsibilities:

• Oversees the production and management of 3D models
• Establishes the scope of work for projects
• Establishes the schedule and deliverables for integrated delivery services
• Oversees construction coordination
• Communicates model generated information to project team
• Implements 3D technology during construction
• Participates in the research and development of new technologies
• Internal training
• Develops project BIM models
• Attends, participates and presents at conferences
• Manages others
• Business Development support
• May lead the Operating Group Integrated Construction team.

Minimum Software proficiencies:

• High level of competency with advanced software. (2D and 3D AutoCAD minimum)
• Proficiency with Autodesk Architectural Desktop (ADT), Autodesk Building Systems (ABS), Autodesk Revit or Graphisoft Constructor preferred.

Additional Software proficiencies:

• Navisworks, Primavera, and 3DS Max or Viz.
• Animation experience a plus

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher education from an accredited college or university in the team member’s professional field (Architecture, Engineering, and/or Construction Management).
• A minimum of 8 years of progressively more challenging commercial construction management experience or equivalent combining education and experience.
• Licensure in professional field is recommended.
