BIM Coordinator | Mortenson Construction | Bellevue Washington

The BIM Coordinator will lead the project coordination effort by ensuring the constructability of projects during design, and by protecting the integrity of design during construction. 

Using Building Information Models as a primary documentation medium, the Design Coordinator will augment and/or replace traditional 2-D construction drawings. 

The BIM Coordinator is an integral team member within pre-construction and construction. Therefore, they must possess technical knowledge of commercial building design, documentation, and use of 3-D computer aided design software.

• Strong verbal, graphic and spatial communication ability
• Self starter with the ability to work independently and within a team
• Vigor and desire to learn and development new processes and technologies
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
• Willingness to create deliverables and meet deadlines as required

Basic Responsibilities:

• Manage and facilitate design coordination cross disciplines
• Act as the primary point of contact for the management and implementation for 3D technology use
• Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training.
• Train project team members in the management and use of Building Information Models

Create and leverage 3-D models for the following

• Support business development
• Utilize visualization techniques and tools to assist in design visualization
• Perform design assistance and constructability reviews
• Incorporate construction means and methods
• Integrate with project schedules to simulate project sequencing
• Coordinate site logistics, site utilization and underground utilities
• Coordinate all project systems and components
• Extract quantities to assist estimating and procurement
• Communicate layout with survey crews and craft workers
• Generate as built documentation to support operations and maintenance

Requirements:

• Practical experience with: Revit, AutoCAD/ADT, Microstation/Triforma, and/or Archicad/Constructor
• Familiarity with coordination and visualization software such as Navisworks, SketchUp, and/or VIZ/MAX
• B.S. or B.A. degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
• Prefer a minimum of 3 years in the design and commercial construction industry
• Ability to work at various project sites within the Puget Sound Region
